Booja Booja Banoffee Toffee Truffles

It's been a while since I've reviewed anything from Booja Booja on here; I tried a couple of their truffles when I was just starting on but a few months on and Booja Booja had some new flavours to explore and try : Banoffee Toffee, Stem Ginger and Rum & Raisin. The Banoffee Toffee sounded right up my street, anything banana/caramel related is normally delicious and I had visions of sumptuous banoffee pie flavours of rich caramel and creamy banana.

As usual the texture of these truffles is a delight in the mouth; they are so gorgeously creamy and luxurious and I love how they are lightly dusted in cocoa powder adding a slight bitter edge to the chocolates and covering your fingers/lips in a light chocolate coating! It seems quite hard to believe that these truffles are dairy + gluten free as the texture achieved is outstanding with such a light melt in the mouth texture, little pillows of elegance!

I had hoped for rich luxurious caramel flavours and deep creamy banana notes to contrast; however what I got was a lot more subtle and left me wanting so much more. There are very very light hints of banana and toffee but nothing to greatly distinguish what flavour the truffle was with the overall flavour being that of a deep chocolate truffle with slight hints of toffee and caramel. Sometimes subtly in a chocolate is needed with stronger flavours that could overpower the chocolate but I felt in this case it would have just helped to complement it further.

These certainly aren't bad in any way, in fact they are definitely still an enjoyable chocolate, but if you're looking for something that packs a big strong banana and caramel punch it maybe best to look elsewhere.

Taste - 6.3/10 - Still tasty but felt it was lacking in terms of the flavour described.
Texture - 9.2/10 - Heaven in truffle form.
Appearance-  8/10 - A lovely looking truffle, dusted with cocoa powder and a nice size to just pop into your mouth.
Price - 8.2/10 - These are only priced at £6.99 in most online stores which I think is really good value considering you get 9 decent sized truffles inside.
Overall - 7.9/10 - Let down on the flavour components but still very nice, plus these are vegan, dairy free and gluten free!
