Hotel Chocolat Tiddly Caramel Penguins

Here we are; it is with this post that I'm going to post the first review of some of Hotel Chocolat's Christmas range this year! As always they seem to have offered a range of products to suit all types of people and occasions, novel and classy alike. I've decided to kick this off in a cute fashion with a review of their Tiddly Caramel Chocolate Penguins! I remember last year trying something similar to these..apart from last time round it was Tiddly Santas that graced my lips instead of penguins.

Hotel Chocolat Tiddly Penguins

Within the box you receive 8 cute looking penguins, split between 2 layers, cast in classic Hotel Chocolat caramel chocolate; on opening the sweet caramel aromas begin to waft out from the box enticing you to tuck in..if you don't feel too cruel eating these little cuties! The flavour is of the usual delicious caramel chocolate that Hotel Chocolat provides; although I don't like it as much as their milk/dark chocolate due to its sweetness, I can't deny that its still amazingly good and will certainly please the masses this festive period.

The texture is softer than that of a classic milk chocolate, with a lovely creamy melt that breaks down perfectly when it hits your tongue as the sweet caramel and toffee notes begin to emerge. I can certify that these will surely go down a treat with children this Christmas, with their sweeter overall flavour and the sheer cuteness and attention to detail that has been put into these Tiddly Penguins..even down to the Hotel Chocolat logo on the penguins' scarves, it's no doubt that their faces would light up on receiving these in their Christmas stocking and being priced at only £5.50 it's not so expensive that they will break the bank if you want to get something of a higher quality than your usual bag of chocolate coins/supermarket shaped novelties.

Although in terms of what they offer they may not be particularly different to any other caramel chocolate shaped product that Hotel Chocolat have brought out in terms of flavour I always feel that at Christmas a bit of cuteness and novelty injected into a product goes a long way!

Taste - 7.7/10 - The usual creamy sweet notes of caramel and toffee that are seen in Hotel Chocolat's caramel chocolate.
Texture - 8.1/10 - I always really like how the caramel chocolate is of a softer consistency compared to that of the milk, I love how it literally just melts in the mouth!
Appearance - 9/10 - You can tell a lot of thought and attention to detail has been put into these Tiddly Penguins, Hotel Chocolat know how to do their novelty chocolates.
Price - 7.6/10 - Priced at £5.50 for 85g, 8 penguins, they are obviously more expensive than you're going to pay for a tube of supermarket chocolates but I think they're worth it and aren't going to be too unreachable for many customers.
Overall - 8.1/10 - Will make many a person smile on Christmas morning.

A good stocking filler/secret Santa present for kids and big kids alike!

You can pick these up at any Hotel Chocolat store or from their website
