Milka Oreo

What do you get when you cross two Kraft brands? No it's not Choccy Philly like many of you may have seen gracing the shelves across the UK..but something a whole lot better Milka Oreo! Your standard bar of Milka with a creamy Oreo cookie filling, yum!

Although this bar isn't readily available in the UK, we can hope that Kraft may produce a Cadbury/Oreo cross-over product for us Brits, I however, managed to pick it up when I was holidaying in Portugal and it can be easily bought online at the great importer of many yummy goods - Cyber Candy!

Milka Oreo

Opening the bar you are immediately greeted with the creamy sweet smell of Milka, for those of you who aren't familiar with the flavour it is more of a "Swiss" taste chocolate, extremely creamy and sweet with less of a deep cocoa flavour but satisfying none the less. I felt this would work well when combined with the usual flavour of Oreo, a much darker less cloying biscuit, with its creamy innards, I presumed would help to offer some balance to the sweeter milk chocolate bar.

I love snapping into bars with fillings to see the composition of the innards and how the ratio of chocolate to filling prevails. The white creamy looking centre was exactly akin to that of the centre of an Oreo biscuit, soft and paste like; whilst the randomly dispersed pieces of Oreo biscuit were well distributed throughout the whole chocolate bar and gave a nice texture contrast and added crunch to the bar!

Milka Oreo
Unfortunately due to there being predominantly more "cream" to "biscuit" I was wrong about there being a balance to the sweeter milk chocolate from the deeper Oreo biscuit and I did find that this Milka bar did get pretty cloyingly sweet - you definitely have to have quite a sweet tooth to enjoy this! In accordance with this I found that the inside didn't really taste all that much of Oreo, there certainly was a creamy biscuit like feel to the bar but it wasn't reminiscent of many peoples favourite "snack-able twist and dunk" biscuit.

Nevertheless it was still a tasty Milka bar if you don't enter with too many preconceptions of Oreo biscuits, yes, it is pretty sweet, but if you can get past that you can certainly enjoy a few cubes here and there and I wouldn't pass up on it if offered a cube!

Milka Oreo

Taste - 6.4/10 - It is pretty sweet and rather than Oreo it just tastes of a general sweet crunchy biscuit mixed with the Milka chocolate; however it is still enjoyable.
Texture - 7.4/10 - The white cream is smooth and pleasant and the Oreo biscuit pieces provide a nice added crunch.
Appearance - 7/10 - Looks nice and good dispersion of biscuit pieces.
Price - 7.8/10 - You can pick this bar up for only £1.45 from Cyber Candy which I think is pretty good value - virtually the same price you would pay for a standard bar of Milka in the supermarket.
Overall - 7.1/10 - For sweet tooth Milka lovers this will no doubt go down a treat.

    LG!
