Grown Up Chocolate Company Salted Peanut Caramel Cracker

I wasn't sure what nostalgic bar this was meant to evoke at first, but after having taken a bite of it there was no doubt in my mind that this was meant to be a take on a Snickers/Marathon bar. It certainly sounded delicious - "sumptuous salted caramel enveloping a row of peanuts on a bed of peanut praline encased in luxury milk chocolate". It sounded like everything I could want in a chocolate bar, lovely hints of peanut butter, caramel, praline with nibbly peanuts all combined. Yum.

As all of the other Grown Up Chocolate Company bars this came as 2x35g bars sitting in a neat little tray inside a small cardboard box. The peanut praline was quite dense, it certainly wasn't a melt in the mouth praline but had an overall drier texture - this wasn't a massive issue however though as because it wasn't the only component of the bar it meant that the crunch of the peanuts + the smooth salted caramel could detract from the dryness slightly. If it had been the full filling of the bar I would have liked to have seen it a lot smoother/creamier.

Nevertheless the flavour is delicious, its kind of like a more elegant Snickers - albeit instead of the usual nougat this has been replaced with the peanut praline. The flavours just work, there is the perfect balance between sweet and salty with wonderful peanut flavours - if you're a big peanut butter fan, like myself, then you will absolutely adore this. In fact I would say that this is probably my favourite bar I've reviewed from the Grown Up Chocolate company so far and its one I would definitely go out and purchase.

I often complain that there isn't much peanut butter chocolate available on the market and a lot of it nowadays is the commercial cloyingly sweet Reese's stuff, which is fine for a certain time & occasion, but when you fancy something a bit better quality with a deeper peanut butter flavour that isn't overwhelmed with sugar then this is ideal.  Another bar that it would seem that because its for "grown ups" that kids are massively missing out on.

Taste - 8.3/10 - Delicious, in terms of flavour profile this is exactly what I look for in a chocolate bar and the flavours worked together oh so well, perfectly balanced between sweet, salty & nutty.
Texture - 6.9/10 - The peanut praline was a tad dry for me but the caramel was nice & smoth and the peanuts added a nice crunch/bite to the bar.
Appearance - 7.2/10 - Nice packaging, bar neatly presented.
Price - 7.7/10 - At £2.50 this isn't a bar that's going to break the bank and its definitely a step up from the generic mass market option.
Overall - 7.5/10 - Peanut butter lovers this is for you.
WHO FOR?A nice on the go pick me up chocolate bar that you could either eat on the go as something a bit more luxurious or enjoy at home with a nice warm drink as a bit more of a treat. Apparently for "grown ups" and probably if you enjoy Snickers.

I've seen these in my local Fenwicks store but you can also buy them online here.
