In 2016 I was lucky enough to get to know the lovely Amy from Amy Seeks New Treats. She kindly sent me an amazing Christmas present which, along with many other delicious things, included this bag of gorgeous looking Milk & White Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl. I absolutely adore peanut butter flavoured anything so I was so grateful for this delicious looking present and couldn't wait to try it!
Purchased from a place called Chocolate Deli, based in Worcester, it looked absolutely delicious. Thick shards of a pale peanut coloured chocolate with swirls of white chocolate adorning it and studded with peanuts. Unlike many companies who claim their chocolates are "peanut butter" flavoured and then simply stud it with a few peanuts here and there, I was absolutely delighted to find that in fact the peanut butter base has been melted and blended into the milk chocolate base, essentially making it a peanut butter milk chocolate. Could this really go wrong?
The question is no. It is absolutely delicious. Imagine a Reese's peanut butter cup, now imagine you've melted that all up and let it set into a thick slab of chocolate, dotted it with additional peanuts and topped it with some extra white chocolate. That is what you have, heaven in bar format for any peanut butter lover.
The melt is smooth and creamy, a mixture between that slightly soft, sticky texture of a spoonful of peanut butter and a standard smooth, milk chocolate bar. Add some nibbly peanuts for a bit of extra crunch and it is spot on.
It's safe to say I'm addicted, nearly my whole bag has gone now. Why are no bigger chocolate companies doing this so I can get my fix? It's like chocolate crack. Amy you certainly found a winner!
Taste - 9.5/10 - Peanut butter chocolate heaven.
Texture - 9.3/10 - A cross between eating a spoonful of peanut butter with a standard piece of chocolate; although they both melt at the same rate. Nibbly peanuts for additional crunch.
Appearance - 8.0/10 - Fairly simplistic packaging but really good decent sized shard pieces.
Price - N.A/10 - I'm not sure what Amy paid for this but it's so good I'd be pretty sure I'd be willing to pay whatever they were asking!
Overall - 8.9/10 - Peanut butter lovers if you're in the Worcester area I strongly recommend you to stock up!
Peanut butter lovers!
