Cadbury Dairy Milk Big Taste Peanut Caramel Crisp

It eventually seems like the UK chocolate market is getting aboard the peanut butter trend; with Cadbury releasing not one but two new peanut products. I have yet to try the Peanut Butter Oreo before (although I haven't heard great things) but I'm fairly sure that it won't be as good as this Big Taste Peanut Caramel Crisp bar (pretty much identical to the Milka version but obviously made with Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate).

As with all of the Big Taste bars, it's fairly hefty, weighing in at 278g and consists of "Dairy Milk filled with peanuts, caramel and a peanut filling, with chopped peanuts and rice crisps". It certainly sounded delicious!

Opening the packet up each (larger) chunk is adorned with a peanut design and snapping it off you could see the clear visual of the peanut filling and caramel, the peanuts certainly aren't as prominent and chunky as they appear on the front of pack design but they most certainly are there.

Popping a piece into my mouth I was absolutely delighted to find that there was a really good peanut butter flavour, nothing artificial about it, it delivered a really good peanut butter chocolate eat. The caramel adds additional sweetness so the bar is pretty sweet but because of the savoury chopped peanuts and rice crisps it doesn't become overly sickly. In fact it makes the bar incredibly moreish, especially due to nibbly/crunchy textural contrast that the chopped peanuts and rice crisps add (more so the peanuts than the rice crisps I think, they're lost slightly in the overall eat) to the soft caramel and smooth peanut filling, which is akin to the texture of the filling in the Oreo bar.

I found myself unable to stop eating this bar, I love all things peanut and peanut butter, especially in chocolate and this most definitely lived up to expectations. I've only seen this bar in Sainsbury's so far but if you're a peanut butter lover (even though this bar isn't directly labelled as peanut butter this is what it tastes like) and you see it when you're out and about I would most definitely recommend picking it up! It's one of the best Cadbury bars I've tasted in a long time.

Taste - 8.7/10 - Absolutely delicious, not much I could fault to be honest. Delivers a great peanut/peanut butter.
Texture - 8.7/10 - Smooth peanut filling, soft caramel and crunchy/nibbly chopped peanuts and rice crisps.
Appearance - 8.3/10 - Looks great.

Price - 8.2/10 - At £3 it is one of the more expensive Cadbury bars but you do get 278g of chocolate, so per 100g it doesn't make it anymore expensive than other bars in the Cadbury range.
Overall - 8.5/10 - A great new addition to the Cadbury range, even if it is just a direct copy from the Milka bar.

Peanut butter lovers!

As mentioned I've only seen this in Sainsbury's so far.
