Before everything goes into full Christmas mode we have the small matter of Halloween, although it's not as big in terms of products compared to somewhere like America, we still do get a decent offering of various chocolate products to either treat yourself or trick or treat others!
I was kindly sent this caramel Boo! Box to review from Hotel Chocolat, I love their caramel chocolate but it's actually been quite some time since I've had any. Their Boo! Box isn't new as such but for some reason I was under the impression that in this Crytopher Caramel box that all of the shapes would be cute vampire figures, instead it's the classic mix of shapes, a shame as I would have liked to have seen some of the cute vampires they sell in boxes.
You get 16 individually wrapped shapes, meaning they're perfect to give out to trick or treaters or to put out at Halloween parties. There's meant to be 6 different shapes in the box but I only got a selection of 4 - no witch's finger and no bat.
The caramel chocolate was as good as ever, creamy, smooth, rich milk chocolate with a lovely sweet flavour of caramel. It's one of my favourite chocolates by Hotel Chocolat, often caramel chocolate can be cloyingly sweet, thankfully this isn't the case here being of superior quality.
I think the great thing about these is that they're suitable for adults and kids, the chocolate is sweet and novelty enough for kids to enjoy but at the same time sophisticated and good quality enough for adults to enjoy also. This makes them perfect for whatever Halloween occasion...or if you just fancy a nice selection of caramel chocolate pieces to snack on as opposed to their standard bar!
Taste - 8.1/10 - Sweet, creamy, caramel milk chocolate.
Texture - 7.9/10 - Smooth melt.
Appearance - 8.4/10 - Perfect for Halloween and the box they come in is great, just a shame they didn't have any vampire figurines as I feel it would have made sense considering the packaging.
Price - 7.5/10 - £8 for 16 pieces works out at 50p each, fairly expensive for maybe standard trick or treating but probably worth it if you're having a party.
Overall - 8.0/10 - A tasty Halloween treat.
Great for both adults/kids for trick or treating (if you're looking to push the boat out a bit) or a Halloween party.
